The Story

So, how did this whole Resound thing get started, you might ask?
In 2008, a small group of worship leaders and friends in Boulder, CO began to talk about setting aside a weekend where worship leaders, artists, & musicians in their own church could spend time adoring Jesus, seeking the Kingdom, and become further equipped in their gifts and callings. We landed on the word 'Resound' because of the energy the verb carries. It seemed to sum up the collision of music, worship, and passion. This video explains it a bit more.
Let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them!
- 1 Chronicles 16:32Make God’s glory resound; echo his praises from coast to coast.
- Isaiah 42:12
So, in the fall of 2008 the first Resound Conference was held at Vinelife Church with only a few dozen in attendance. But even then we felt that something was stirring beneath the surface. We knew the Father was seeking worshippers who would worship Him in Spirit & in truth. We wanted to be part of the movement of young and old who would be drawn into the love of the Father, through the blood of Jesus, and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
As time passed, and conversations were had, we began to see a growing need among other churches and fellowships in the Front Range area. Not only were there worship leaders and pastors who needed to be encouraged, but there was an increasing desire to gather worshippers together equipping and encouragement. The idea of an multi-church worship gathering wasn't (and isn't) a new one. But, still we felt compelled to continue creating environments where worshippers from different streams could host the Presence of God and be exposed to some new worship leaders, artists, & creative expressions along the way.
So in the last few years, we've continued to host the Resound Conference. Over the past couple years, hundreds have come together not to flock towards the next hip and cool worship leaders - but to simply release a sound of worship to Jesus. Many artists from across the country have joined us in this pursuit including Kim Walker-Smith, Jonathan David & Melissa Helser, Kye Kye, Jeremy Riddle, Gungor, Ascend the Hill, Laura Hackett, Josh Garrels, Daniel Bashta, Aaron Strumpel, Karla Adolphe, Enter the Worship Circle, Anthony Skinner, John Mark McMillan, Laura Woodley Osman, United Pursuit Band, Darrell Evans, and many other local worship leaders.
In the the last year, the Resound journey has continued to expand in other ways...
- A varied ensemble of artists got together to record the first "Resound Collective" album that features all original material. You can listen along and download chord charts here.
- Several international invitations have led us to establish Resound Global. We've been blown away by how the Father loves to draw sons and daughters back to Himself around the world
So, the journey continues, and we're excited to see what's next in the Resound story. Stay tuned to see what's next.
